2016 ‘Aim Higher’ Programs launching next week!

Did you get involved with eventing for the regular dose of adrenaline that cross country riding provides? Perhaps you were attracted to the unique challenge of mastering three different equestrian disciplines? Do you find it difficult to fit regular lessons into your busy lifestyle or are quality coaches in short supply in your region? Have you given up on your dream goal???

“Thanks so much Eleanor. The results at Warwick really bought home how much your help is changing us. We knew we were on a winner after those two weeks of training at Belcam. I never thought Paris would respond the way she has, credit to you. Having known you as a professional eventer previously we were only randomly gathering what information we could when the opportunity arose. This new service now means we are able to tap into that knowledge base as frequently as needed. This is priceless. Living in Moree means it’s hard to get high level, consistent instruction. Problem solved. We cannot wait to be involved next season.” Nathaniel Phillis

Season Finale at Warwick Horse Trials

Team Highborne enjoyed a relaxed and rewarding end to the eventing season at the Warwick Horse Trials Combined Training and Hunter Trial. It was a fantastic way to finish off the season for the more established combinations but was also an excellent opportunity to introduce a few new combinations to the sport in a low key competition atmosphere. Six students competed over the weekend after training at Highborne Farm in preparation for the event. Congratulations to the following riders for their outstanding results!

  • Katie Galloway, riding her talented youngster VH Rockcee, were winners of the 50cm CT class at their very first outing and they are now looking ahead to an exciting 2016 eventing season.
  • Kate Ross, riding her two lovely homebred youngsters, dominated the 60cm CT class with a win on Kasimir and a 3rd placing on Green Isles Leprechaun. Both horses handled their first experience in the showjumping ring extremely well and show plenty of promise for the future.
  • Sharna Jackwitz rode Kate Ross’s Lionel into 2nd place after dressage, with a very polished test at their first event together. Unfortunately Sharna missed a fence in her showjumping, while she was busy concentrating on a few new techniques. We look forward to watching this new partnership grow during 2016.
  • Paris Phillis, riding pocket rocket Peter Rabbit, placed 4th in the 80cm CT after a PB in the dressage phase. She then went on to place 3rd in the 95cm HT on Carbeen Pablo and win the 80cm HT on Peter Rabbit with two fantastic cross country rides seeing her clear and under time for the very first time. Paris has shown amazing improvement in the 3 months she has been training with Highborne Equestrian and 2016 promises to be a rewarding season for her.
  •  Morgan Phillis, rode Get ’em High to 4th place in the 95cm CT with a lovely clear showjumping round and well ridden dressage test.
  • Nathaniel Phillis, riding Prophet, finished 2nd in the 95cm CT, showing just how far this combination has come this season. They then went on to win the 95cm HT with a consistent performance in both phases including a cross country round which was awarded the ‘Closest to Optimum Time’.
  •  The Phillis family’s results, which combined Morgan and Get ’em High’s neat dressage test, Nathaniel and Prophet’s accurate cross country ride and Paris and Peter Rabbits clear showjumping round, also saw them take home the WHT eventing team cup.

Highborne Equestrian now switches to intense training mode for the off season in preparation for 2016. For more information on the 2016 ‘Aim Higher’ program or upcoming ‘School Holiday Intensives’ please click on ‘Train with Eleanor’ in the above menu.
